What good information do you have to share?

Luke 1

1 Since [as is well known] many have undertaken to put in order and draw up a [thorough] narrative

of the surely established deeds which have been accomplished and fulfilled in and among us,

2 exactly as they were handed down to us

by those who from the [official] beginning [of Jesus' ministry]

were eyewitnesses and ministers of the Word

[that is, of the doctrine concerning Jesus Christ],

3 It seemed good and desirable to me, [and so I have determined] also after

having searched out diligently

and followed all things closely

and traced accurately the course from the highest to the minutest detail from the very first,

to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,

4 [My purpose is] that you may know the full truth

and understand with certainty and security

against error the accounts (histories) and doctrines of the faith

of which you have been informed

and in which you have been orally instructed.

***What does that passage say a Great Commission teacher should do?

Are you an information collector? Are you a graphics and good photo collector? What did you learn from Bible teachers you have heard?

***Advice: Use a New Document to put wonderful Scripture passages, Biblical quotations, best teachings you have heard or read, your testimony or testimonies, your beliefs, your convictions, your concerns, your hopes, Worldly problems, and spiritual controversies. Then you can easily copy and paste in response to e-mails and postings in Facebook, Linkedin, Christian Forums websites. You can also use any of my spiritual acronyms, Bible study tools, other information, spiritual graphics collection.

Tony Robbins is a LinkedIn Influencer #1 New York Times best-selling author, life and business strategist, philanthropist, entrepreneur. He is for humanism and anti-Christianity. He gets individuals to walk on hot coals. He said the following:

“As a species, we’re not only wired to choose today over tomorrow, but we hate to feel like we’re losing out on something. The bottom line is, if we feel like we’re losing something we avoid it, we won’t do it. That’s why so many people don’t save and invest. Saving sounds like you’re giving something up, you’re losing something today. But you’re not.” – Tony Robbins ***He has misled so many.

PFHL Course 301-- Waiting For and On God (6 pgs.)

 PFHL Course 301-- Waiting For and On God (6 pgs.)
(Compiled, sorted, and logically formatted by Bill Stevenson)

Note:    This assignment is worth 3 units, so write at least 4 pages in doing the 3 parts.

Part 1
Directions:    Write a brief response to the below essay.

The Golden Nugget
(by Gary Scott)

Fact: Adversity is the diamond dust Heaven polishes its human jewels with.
We often talk about the patience of Job but rarely exemplify that patience in our actual lives.  It is a familiar sight to see a blocked motorist lay on his horn to express his impatience.  Frustrated mothers lose patience with the children and by 2:00 P.M. on Saturday lost their voice from screaming at them.  A description of impatience really isn't necessary-- you know all too well what impatience is.  It might be worthwhile to point out that patience relates to two entirely different spheres of life: the World of things and the World of people.
In the World of things, patience is that calmness with which the individual contends against the various hindrances and problems that confront him.  Patience: is the ability to keep your cool when your car won't start, when your dryer breaks down with two baskets of wet clothes, and your furnace quits at 2:30 in the morning.  The Christian has the ability to handle even these minor irritations along with the major problems.  He doesn't grumble nor grow depressed when a serious disease plagues his family or when he loses his job.  He knows that his Heavenly Father has everything in control and even the setbacks will help him in some way.  He patiently trusts God to teach him through the problems and expectantly waits for the day of deliverance.  He knows that God wisely and sovereignly appoints affliction to cause him to grow.
It is in his dealings with people that he faces the stiffest challenge.  One thing is certain in life-- sooner or later you will-suffer at the hands of another.  Patience is the ability to sustain injury at the hands of another and not to allow oneself to be provoked or upset by them or to blow up in anger.  The normal reaction to injury is retaliation-- the World is full of people trying to get even.  The Christian's response to injury is patience; he refuses to get upset or explode in anger.  He follows the example set by the Savior and suffers boldly for righteousness sake.  When someone lies about him or assaults him he sees the Savior standing quietly and enduring abuse.  It is the grace of God that grants to the man such strength of character.
Patience is that enduring courage or fortitude derived from confidence in the faithfulness of God, and a sure expectation of final deliverance which sustains the believer through a long period, of labor and trial.  Impatience is to doubt either God's wisdom or His love.  Patience proves love for God.  How can I love God and delight in His will and glory and yet be impatient with His providence by which His will is done and His glory secured.  How can I love my fellow man and not be patient with his faults, and errors?  Even he is an instrument in the hands of God to shape my character.  Make no mistake, God does all things well.

Part 2
Directions:    Write an essay on how the following Scripture passages relate to patience.
Hebrews 12:1-2
1    Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses,
            let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us,
            and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2                 looking to Jesus The Author and Finisher of our faith,
                         Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame,
                                and sat down at the right of the Throne of God.
Psalms 37:7-8
7    Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for Him;
           do not fret yourself because of him who prospers in his way,
                   because of him who practices wickedness.
8          Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
           do not fret yourself to do evil.
1 Timothy 6:10-12
10    For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some having lusted after,
             they were seduced from the faith
             and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11                But you, O man of God, flee these things
                    and follow after righteousness, Godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness.
12                Fight the good fight of faith.
                          Lay hold on Eternal Life,
                               to which you are also called
                               and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

1 Thessalonians 5:14
Now we exhort you, brothers,
      warn those who are unruly,
      comfort the faint-hearted,
      support the weak,
      be patient toward all.
Romans 12:9-13
  9    Let love be without hypocrisy,
              shrinking from evil, cleaving to good;
10                in brotherly love to one another,
                          loving fervently, having led one another in honor.
11    As to diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving The LORD;
12          rejoicing in hope, patient in affliction,
                  steadfastly continuing in prayer,
13                    distributing to the needs of the saints,
                       pursuing hospitality.
James 1:2-4
2    My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations,
3            knowing that the trying of your faith works patience.
4                  But let patience have its perfect work,
                         so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.
1 Peter 2:20
For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted?
     But if you suffer while doing good, and patiently endure,
           this is a grace from God.
Romans 5:3-5
3    And not only this, but we glory in afflictions also,
            knowing that afflictions work out patience,
4           and patience works out experience,
            and experience works out hope.
5           And hope does not make us ashamed,
                   because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through The Holy Spirit given to us.
2 Peter 1:5-7
5    But also in this very thing,
            bringing in all diligence,
            filling out your faith with virtue,
            and with virtue, knowledge;
6           and with knowledge self-control,
            and with self-control, patience,
            and with patience, Godliness,
7           and with Godliness, brotherly kindness,
            and with brotherly kindness, love.
Hebrews 6:11-12
11    And we desire that each one of you show the same eagerness to the full assurance of hope to the end,
12           that you be not slothful,
               but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the Promises.
Romans 15:4-5
4    For whatever things were written before were written for our learning,
           so that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
5                And may the God of patience and consolation
                        grant you to be like minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus,
2 Thessalonians 3:5
And may The LORD direct your hearts
      into the love of God,
      and into the patience of Christ.
Luke 21:19
By your patience you will gain your souls.
Isaiah 40:28-31
28    Have you not known?
              Have you not heard, that The Everlasting God, Jehovah, The Creator of the ends of the Earth, does not grow weak nor weary?
                     There is no searching of His understanding.

29           He gives power to the weary; and to him with no vigor; He increases strength.
30                   Even the young shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall;
31                   but those who wait on Jehovah shall renew their strength;
                             they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
                             they shall run, and not be weary;
                             they shall walk and not faint.
Revelation 3:10
Because you have kept the Word of My patience,
      I also will keep you from the hour of temptation
           which will come upon all the habitable World, to try those who dwell upon the Earth.
Ecclesiastes 7:8-11
  8    Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of it;
             the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
  9                Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry;
                           for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
10                Do not say, “Why was it that the former days were better than these?”
                           For you do not ask wisely in regard to this.
11                             Wisdom is good with an inheritance;
                                 but it is gain to those who see the Sun.

Part 3
Directions:    Answer the thought-provoking questions:

Introduction:    In 1975 or 1976, I did a study on waiting on God and wrote about 20 Bible references on a thin piece of paper.  In the 1980s and the 1990s I did not ever refer to the just mentioned, even though rereading those Bible verses after several upset tragedies probably could have helped me.  I started this study last summer while I was seeking to find a true Christian day school to teach in and stopped it when I was offered a position in a San Jose school.  Then I wrote some more questions after a horrible rejection by someone I trusted so much.  I asked God why did He want me to study more on this subject.  I thought that He wanted me to share about becoming more Christ-like for preparing to be ready for the Second Coming, not waiting as we usually think of waiting.  As you will see, if you will take some time to do this study, God expects an active waiting on true Christians’ parts.  I completed this Bible study guide now as that person is getting out of my life by moving to Oklahoma and I know now why God wanting me to do another study on the subject of waiting.  When I share the most important promise to me in the Bible, I insert the word “eventually”:  “And we know that all things eventually work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”  I hope that you will be blessed by this Bible study and desire to make changes in your thinking and doing too.

Psalm 25:1-5 & 20-21
“‘Unto You, Oh LORD, do I lift up my soul.
         Oh my God, I trust in You: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
         Yes, let none that wait on You be ashamed:
               let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
         Show me Your ways, Oh LORD; teach me Your paths.
               Lead me in Your truth, and teach me: for You art the God of my salvation;
                     on You do I wait all the day.
         Oh keep my soul, and deliver me.
                 Let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in You.
                 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me;
                      for I wait on You.’”

16.    What is another requirement for waiting on God?
17.    What does the just indicated mean to you?
18.    How does the above Scripture passage say God helps in developing the just indicated waiting on God requirement?
19.    How does God do that in others and in you?

Psalm 37:3-9 & 28-34
“Trust in The LORD, and do good;
        so shall you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed.
  Delight yourself also in The LORD;
        and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
  Commit your way unto The LORD;
        trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
              And He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.
  Rest in The LORD, and wait patiently for Him:
       fret not yourself because of him [or her] who prospers in his [or her] way,
            because of the man [or woman] who brings wicked devices to pass.
       Cease from anger,
       and forsake wrath;
              fret not yourself in any wise to do evil.
                   For evildoers shall be cut off;
       but those that wait upon The LORD, they shall inherit the Earth.
             For The LORD loves judgment, and forsakes not His Saints.
                   They are preserved forever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
                   The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever.
  The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,
       and his [or her] tongue talks of judgment.
              The Law of his [or her] God is in his [or her] heart;
                    none of his [or her] steps shall slide.
  The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to slay him [or her].
       The LORD will not leave him [or her] in his [or her] hand,
             nor condemn him [or her] when he [or she] is judged.
                   Wait on The LORD, and keep His way,
                         and He shall exalt you to inherit the land.
                                When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.”

27.    What are the twelve commandments in this passage (the conditions for the promises)?
28.    Has this passage helped you in the past?  If so, how?  Does this passage help you now?  If so, how?

Psalm 62:5-8
“My soul waits only upon God, for my expectation is from Him.
         He only is my rock and my salvation.
         He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
         In God is my salvation and my glory:
                the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
                      Trust in Him at all times;
                            people, pour out your heart before Him:
                                   God is a refuge for us.  Selah.”
29.    What does “my soul waits only upon God for my expectation is from Him” mean?

         LORD, hear my voice: let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
         If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, Oh LORD, who shall stand?
              But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.’
         I wait for The LORD, my soul does wait,
               and in His Word do I hope.
                      My soul waits for The LORD more than they that watch for the morning:
                              I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”
35.    What does “supplication” mean?
36.    What does “iniquity” mean?
37.    What does “wicked” mean?
38.    What does “there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared” mean?
39.    Why is the most used verb in this passage?
40.    What helped the author of  Psalm 130 be patient with God?
41.    Can you be glad that your thankfulness for God’s mercy and forgiveness of your past sins and your hope in God’s Word helps you wait for Holy Spirit guidance as the author of Psalm 130 apparently was?   Why or why not?

Proverbs 8:32-36
“‘Now therefore hearken unto Me, Oh you children:
        for blessed are they that keep My ways.
        Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
               Blessed is the man that hears Me,
                     watching daily at My gates,
                     waiting at the posts of My doors.
               For who finds Me finds life, and shall obtain favor of The LORD.
                     But he that sins against Me wrongs his own soul.
                           All they who hate Me love death.’”
Isaiah 8:16-18
“‘Bind up the testimony, seal the Law among my disciples.
       And I will wait upon The LORD, Who hides His face from the House of Jacob,
              and I will look for Him.
       Behold, I and the children whom The LORD has given me
            are for signs and for wonders in Israel from The LORD Of Hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.’”
42.    How would you translate Proverbs 8:32-34 in today’s English?
43.    Is God indicating in the last two verses of the Proverbs passage indicate that when an individual sins against Him, he or she hates Him and loves spiritual death?
44.    How do you seek God and what does spiritual life feel like?
45.    While we are waiting for God to give us guidance via Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and wise Christians, are we to seek signs and wonders?   [You may have to read the context of the Isaiah passage in order to discover the obvious answer.]

Isaiah 30:18-19
“‘And therefore will The LORD wait,
         that He may be gracious unto you,
              and therefore will He be exalted,
          that He may have mercy upon you: for The LORD is a God of judgment:
                 blessed are all they that wait for Him.
  For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem:
        you shall weep no more:
              He will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry;
                      when He shall hear it, He will answer you.’”
Lamentations 3:22-26
“It is of The LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed,
      because His compassions fail not.
            They are new every morning:
                  great is Your faithfulness.

  The LORD is my portion, says my soul;
       therefore will I hope in Him.
            The LORD is good to them who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.
                  It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of The LORD.”
Micah 7:7
“Therefore I will look unto The LORD;
       I will wait for the God of my salvation:
            my God will hear me.”
Why should we be able to wait for God’s guidance?
46.    What doe God promise for those who wait on Him and wait for Him?
47.    What does “quietly” waiting “for the salvation of The LORD” mean?  Why is such salvation not just acceptance of the Gospel?
48.    What does “quietly” waiting “for the salvation of the LORD” mean?  Why is such salvation not just acceptance of the Gospel?

Zephaniah 3:7-9
“‘I said, Surely you will fear Me,
       you will receive instruction;
             so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
             Therefore wait upon Me’, says The LORD, ‘until the Day that I rise up to the prey:
                   for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms,
                        to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger:
                               for all the Earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.
                               For then will I turn to the people a pure language,
                                    that they may all call upon the Name of The LORD,
                                          to serve Him with one consent.’”
49.    How would you translate Zephaniah 3:7-9 in today’s English?
50.    Why keep righteous and patient for God?  [Revelation 14-22 apply to these verses.]

Romans 8:18-28
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
       For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons (and daughters) of God.
            For the creature was made subject to vanity,
                 not willingly,
                 but by reason of Him Who has subjected the same in hope,
                       because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption
                             into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
                                  For we know that the whole Creation groans and travails in pain together until now.
                                  And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of The Spirit,
                                         even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
                                               waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
                                                     For we are saved by hope:
                                                          but hope that is seen is not hope.
                                                                 For what a man sees, why doth he yet hope for?
                                                                 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
                                                          Likewise The Spirit also helps our infirmities:
                                                                for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
                                                                but The Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
                                                                      And He Who searches the hearts
                                                                             knows what is the mind of The Spirit,
                                                                                    because He makes intercession for the Saints according to the will of God.
                                                                      And we know that all things work together for good
                                                                             to them that love God,
                                                                             to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
51.    What is the first key fact about waiting on God in Romans 8:18-28?
52.    What does it mean to “groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body”?  [1 Corinthians 15 is appropriate here.]
53.    What does the following mean to you: “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope.  For what a man sees, why doth he yet hope for?  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it?”  What does “with patience” mean to you?  Read 2 Corinthians 4:15-5:10 and 2 Peter 3 before answering and writing a paragraph at least.
54.    In what two major ways does this Scripture passage say the Holy Spirit helps believers?
55.    Has Romans 8:28 helped you “wait on God”?  If so how?  If not, how can remembering it help you in the future?
56.    What does loving God mean and what is “His purpose”?  Why do you think that you are “called according to His purpose”?

1 Corinthians 1:4-10
“I thank my God always on your behalf,
       for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ:
           that in every thing you are enriched by Him,
                 in all utterance,
                 and in all knowledge;
                        even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you.
                              So that you come behind in no gift;
                              waiting for the Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
                                     Who shall also confirm you unto the End,
                                             that you may be blameless in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
       God is faithful,
              by Whom you were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
                      Now I beseech you, brothers [and sisters], by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
                             that you all speak the same thing,
                             and that there be no divisions among you;
                             but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
54.    What does “So that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” mean to you?
58.    What does “the end” mean in this passage?  How do you think that Jesus Christ will confirm true Christians “unto the end”?  What does “the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” mean?  What does “that you may be blameless” mean?
59.    What does “Now I beseech you, brothers [and sisters], by the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” mean to you?

Galatians 5:5
“For we through The Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”
60.    What does this verse mean to you?  Include the Bible verses that support your beliefs?

2 Thessalonians 3:3-6
“But The LORD is faithful, Who shall
        establish you,
        and keep you from evil.
               And we have confidence in The LORD touching you,
                      that you both do and will do the things which we command you.
                And The LORD direct your hearts
                      into the love of God,
                      and into the patient waiting for Christ.
                Now we command you, brothers [and sisters], in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
                      that you withdraw yourselves from every brother (or sister) who
                            walks disorderly,
                            and not after the tradition which he received of us.”
61.    Who is “The LORD” and how is He faithful in your life?
62.    What should doing something proper “in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ” mean?  What are one or two examples of doing something wrong “in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ” in religious history?
63.    Why is the word “brother” in the last verse?  Give some examples of such who “walk” disorderly.  Also read 2 Timothy 3 and answer these questions too: What are common sins listed which are being done my most professing Christians?  Does “from such people turn away” mean condemning such or stop praying for them?  What is the most important fact and why is it so important?
64.    How can directing your thoughts “into the love of God” help you patiently wait for the fulfillment of 1 Corinthians 15?

65.    In conclusion, what changes will you purpose to do in being more patient with God?  [Praise God for any answers to this question and I daily pray for such new commitments.]

Fruit of the Spirit Balanced Relationships

Fruit of the Spirit Balanced Relationships

(Author unknown and Scripture was added)

Introduction:

Galatians 5:

22          But the fruit of The Holy Spirit is love,

                     joy, peace, longsuffering,

                     gentleness, goodness, faith,

23                 meekness, temperance;

                              against such there is no law.

1 Thessalonians 2

  7                                     But we proved to be gentle among you,

                                               as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.

  8                                                  Having so fond an affection for you,

                                                            we were well-pleased to impart to you

                                                                   not only the Gospel of God

                                                                   but also our own lives,

                                                                         because you had become very dear to us.

  9                                    For you recall, brothers {and sisters}, our labor and hardship,

                                              how working night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you,

                                                    we proclaimed to you the Gospel of God.

10                                         You are witnesses, and so is God,

                                                    how devoutly and uprightly and blamelessly we behaved

                                                           toward you believers;

11                                                just as you know how we were exhorting

                                                         and encouraging and imploring each one of you

                                                                as a father {would} his own children,

12                                                                  so that you would walk in a manner worthy of

                                                                            The God Who calls you into His Own Kingdom and glory.

Agapè love, the unlimited love from God, is required for all of the rest of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  Notice how the fruit can be divided for a Christian mother’s and a Christian father’s responsibilities emphases.  In each home with these indicated balances, there will be an abundance of agapè love!!  Otherwise, many problems will develop.  If there is an over balance of (or only) devotion and compassion, there will be patronizing and insincerity from the children.  If there is an over balance of (or only) guidance and persuasion, then there will be a lot of legalism and manipulating.

A mother’s gentleness/kindness involves unselfishness.  The Christian home should be the best place for comfort, kindness, and proper affection.  Without being balanced with goodness/righteousness, such unselfishness may lack discernment about who to be gentle and kind to.  Goodness involves righteousness. Without being balanced with gentleness (or kindness), unselfishness righteousness may lead to spiritual pride.  A mother’s longsuffering requires much patience.  With longsuffering patience, optimistic hopefulness may cause jealousy from others.  A family should have enough patience and hope in God, so that they won’t separate at all no matter what challenges or problems.  Peace involves harmony.  Without being balanced with meekness humbleness, harmony can be boring.  A balance here helps a family be a good testimony in this country full of fighting, crime, and divorces.

A father should be faithful to his wife and his children.  Faithfulness requires hopefulness. Without being balanced with faithfulness/hopefulness, patience (required waiting) may encourage self-pity and depression.  A father’s meekness should include humbleness.  Without being balanced with harmony humbleness will influence isolation.  Temperance involves restraint.  Without being balanced with rejoicing, restraint becomes cold and dead.  A balance here creates a pleasant home atmosphere.  Without being balanced with temperance restraint, rejoicing may become hyper-emotionalism.  A balance here creates a pleasant home atmosphere.
