Dr. Neal Carlson
Neal Carlson lived with his wife Nancy, of 53 ½ years Between 2,000 and 2013 they lived in a small seacoast town in Central California, USA called Cayucos. After his wife "graduated" to Heaven (August, 2013) he now lives 5 miles south in a small sea coast town called Morro Bay, California. The town is located on Hwy 1 roughly half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Calif. USA.
He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, April 27, l934 and at age 9 moved with his parents to the southern state of Louisiana where he was raised in the city of Shreveport. He graduated from Byrd High School there in 1952.
He holds a B.A. degree from Louisiana College (1956), a Master of Divinity from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1960) and a Doctorate from California Graduate School of Theology (1971).
At age 19 he responded to the call from God to the ministry and within months was called to his first church as pastor, the Jacoby Baptist Church, Lettsworth, Louisiana. He celebrated 50 years in the ministry, April, 2003.
At the graduate school in New Orleans, l959, he met his wife to be, NANCY JANE DuBOIS from Kirkwood, (St. Louis) Missouri. She was working on her Masters in religious education.
Together they pastored:
Bridge City Baptist Church - greater New Orleans, La.
First Baptist Church - Plano, Illinois
Beverly Hills Baptist Church - greater Detroit, Michigan
American Baptist Church - Ridgecrest, California
Alvarado Baptist Church - San Diego, California
And 28 1/2 years - COMMUNITY CHURCH FELLOWSHIP King City, California until December 31, 2000.
Currently he is president of FOUNDATION FOR LIVING, Inc. which he founded in 1972 and pastor of THE CHURCH IN THE SON (the internet ministry)
They have 5 grown children: Robyn Lynn, Kenneth Neal, Darrin Neal, Bryan Neal and Jody Lynn who on August 10, 2011 went to live with Jesus.
They have 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In an attempt to expand the ministry of Foundation for Living, in 1997 a piece of cyber-turf was opened to the world called
Words For Courageous Living.
Calling Cards
Pastor Neal has shepherded a series of congregations in his 64 years of ministry. Being called to ministry has resulted in a number of "Calling Cards."

Christians Committing Suicide... Do They Go To Heaven?
Christians & Suicide - What God Says? We all understand that these are days marked by great distress. Even Christians are given to deep rooted depression where suicide is seriously contemplated.
There are seven recorded suicides in the Bible:
JUDGES 9:54
JUDGES 16:28-31
1 SAMUEL 31:1-6
1 SAMUEL 31:1-6
2 SAMUEL 17:23
1 KINGS 16:18
MATTHEW 27:5
Then their are those who wanted to commit suicide... Jonah, Elijah, etc.
Suicides will increase in our day. The Bible portrays society as indifferent towards God. Our godless society is bent on its own destruction.
As these last days wax worse, suicides will become more and more common. As the pressures of life mount, the world will continue to refuse its only hope and help for their troubled souls; suicides will become acceptable.
Suicide will peek during the Great Tribulation period where it is recorded (Rev. 9:6) that people will favor death and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. Evidently the only thing that keeps the mass of society from committing suicide in the tribulation is the mercy of God.
Preventing Suicide - How?
Only God knows what truly brings a person to the point of ending their life. Suicide, however, is rooted in deception. Many believe suicide to be an escape, or their only option, and/or the end of misery. This is false.
The important question is this, what does the Bible provide for this ruined world? The answer is Jesus Christ!
Although Christians have abundant life in Christ they are just as susceptible to suicidal thoughts as anyone else. Christians who commit suicide... will they go to heaven or did they commit an unforgivable sin?
Many consider suicide as an
un-forgivable sin. Obviously the Bible provides a solid case against such an irrational thought. The instant a sinner is saved, they are justified (declared righteous/forever) the moment they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.. Their sins (past, present, future) are imputed to the Lord Jesus Christ (an irreversible act)
The believer's hope of heaven is not in their own ability to please God, nor is it revoked based on demerit of any sort; but in the finished work of Christ on the cross.
Jesus Christ does not just meet needs... He Is The NEED! He is the answer for despair, death, and the only defense against deception.
